Interesting idea – many of us know (at least in theory) the premise of identifying a need and then filling it. This might suggest that the folks who need what you have to offer aren’t the folks with the most pain, but the folks who convince themselves that they need yet another cell phone or cookbook or whatever.
Put another way, selling self-help books isn’t done by finding the people who need the most help, but finding the people who can’t help themselves (from buying self-help books.)
