The key is to not have a set plan like this article suggests. You have a person who is being paid to talk to you. You can talk about whatever you want for all but as long as you want. Just be yourself and most importantly be light and funny. Don't hit on her at all. Ask her questions about herself, this will show that you're interested. From here just let things progress naturally and if you feel like you're doing well and you're still interested after talking to her a bit then ask her if she wants to do something with you in the near future (it would be helpful to know a bit about what she likes to do at this point, but not a must). I am in this situation right now and I have a game plan. I think that becoming a regular is definately your best chance. If you hit on her too strong right from the go...she is going to put you in the category with the rest of the douch bags that do the same thing. Take an attractive waitress...and think about how many times she has been hit on by patrons. Come on! You have to come from a different angle. Tipping big is huge...build an image for yourself and wait for her to come around you. The sad thing in my situation is this...the girl has a boyfriend. I am going to get her anyways. I will let you guys know how this turns out. I live in a small town and I bumped into the girl today. It was so perfect too. I just took off my helmet and she pulled up right next to me. She saw me on my Kawasaki Ninja zx-6r. I looked like such a pimp! Hahaha! I asked her..."when is the next time you are working?" She was like..."i am working tonight". I am NOT going to go in today..I will wait a few days and maybe go in this weekend. I am going to sit at the bar and do my homework and completely ignore her. I am going to start to become a regular. Anyways, the challenge seems good enough, but i believe it works best if you become a regular at some place and she gets used to your presence, on this situation you cannot advertise your interest so quickly, instead you might need to chat her up and give her some cues about your interesting life so she becomes comfortable to ask you questions back. The whole time I was at the restaurant I was making eye contact with her and she was returning the looks. After Dinner I get up to leave and I glance over at her and she's checking me out and smiling. So that's when I tried your sugestion and it was a total rejection. First she smiled and laughed a little then she told me that she was sorry and that she had a boyfriend. OK just tried this.

But your end approach is well..hit or miss...and can be awkward if it doesn't work out and you return there. My approach is this. Frequent the restaurant, i.e. if its a steak place or sports bar, come a few times and eat at the bar with your friends. try to get a side booth or table next to the bar and always leave a big tip. usually 40% or more. you should definately build a good repoire if you are friendly and talking to everyone, and I mean everyone. the bouncers, male bartenders, hosts, and eventually the managers and owners. talk to them about their tips that nights, you will get a ton of funny stories of 20 people leaving 5 bucks on a 500$ check. you can do this at several restaurants. We always are able to get the waitresses to start sitting with us at the end of the evenings, 2-3 or more at a time, just talking. be respectful. and then..ask them what they are doing after work. restaurants usually close around 11. and take them out. this takes a bankroll but...it never fails.
