Today I was a party in my first firing. It’s right what they say – it is very much the worst part about a job.
Is there a Christian way to let someone go? How do you say, “I think you’re a great person and could make a great asset to someone’s team, but I don’t think it’s in our best interests to have you on this project?” How do you say it with sincerity?
Is it kind to want to help them find something else? Or is that putting salt on a wound? Is it being a servant telling them that you’d gladly serve as a reference in the future, or is that a conflicting signal that does more harm than good. Would they even believe you?
How do you reconcile the call for prudence and wisdom with the call for grace?
